Snow falling on snow

The best part of my trip to Ladakh was the day we got snowed in. Although this meant that all our plans would change I did not mind it one bit.

When we retired for the day the ground was brown from the dust.  Socks hung from the line, boots were piled near the kitchen tent. It was just another day so far.

But in the morning we woke to a transformed landscape. There was a carpet of snow all around, gone was the brown of the barren earth. There was a Christmas like feeling all around.

Some one is not going to be using his socks for a while.

The best part of this was the advantage of viewing this magical transformation from within the confines of a toasty warm room. Although it was pretty outside I did not fancy a long trek in all that snow.

From the window I watched the rest of Fanzila go about their daily chores. Life does not stop for a little snow.  Sometimes I had some curious on lookers!

I sat by the window a long time and watched the snow softly  falling on snow.
