Notes on a funeral

I find funerals unsettling.  You never know what words to use or how useful your words are to those in pain. For some one who has no trouble with getting a conversation going I find funerals difficult. It  makes me  realise that  sometimes words just aren’t enough and that sometimes silence can speak volumes, that sometimes with the slightest touch you can pass on your strength to someone else.

I recently wrote a piece on a funeral I attended for Matador Life. You can read it here.
