I have always been a sucker for good views and cosy corners. My ideal room is one with slanting windows, yellow lights, plush cushions, a blue duvet with green curtains through which sunlight streams . When I look out of the window I will be able to see the tops of leafy trees. When I strain my neck up I will see the white trails of supersonic jets. When I look down I’ll see people walking their dogs, I’ll see people jogging past people reading Pride and Prejudice. Ah! That perfect room with the perfect view.
